Seven independent checks

Every SoloSteady income summary passes through seven independent checks before you can download it. Any layer can reject a submission. This is what stands behind the figures in the document.

Defense · layersPipeline
  1. 01

    Read-only bank sourcing

Deposits are read through a Plaid connection you authorize, using read-only products only — transactions and identity. There is no file in between that anyone could edit, and your bank login never reaches our servers.

  2. 02

    Deposit accounts only

Only checking and savings accounts are analyzed. Credit cards, loans, and investment accounts are filtered out twice — once in the bank picker and again on our server before anything is read — so borrowed money can never be counted as income.

  3. 03

    Deterministic income classification

Transfers between your own accounts, merchant refunds, tax refunds, and loan proceeds are separated out by a fixed rule set rather than a judgment call. No model decides what counts. The same deposits always produce the same figure.

  4. 04

    Income bounded by real deposits

The monthly figure is the sum of deposits that actually landed in the account, and a plausibility ceiling halts the analysis rather than issue a summary with an impossible number on it. An income figure cannot exceed money the bank actually reported.

  5. 05

    Government-issued ID verification

Before any analysis runs, you verify your identity through Stripe Identity — document capture, selfie, and liveness check against a government-issued ID. Anyone who refuses or fails ID verification cannot receive a summary.

  6. 06

    Name match

The legal name on your ID must match the account holder name your bank reports. Exact matches pass. Anything short of a match — including a near miss — stops the analysis, so an account that is not yours cannot be used.

  7. 07

    Document hash on every page

Every summary carries a hash derived from its own contents, printed on every page. Compare it across pages and copies: any edit to the figures changes what the hash would be. The check runs against the document itself — SoloSteady keeps no lookup page, so nobody needs to contact us to read it.

WHAT · STAYS PRIVATE

What stays private

SoloSteady never sends your income summary to anyone. There is no page where a lender, a broker, or anyone else can look up your income, and there is no way to request one. You download the document and decide who sees it. Raw bank data is deleted within 24 hours of processing by a purge that runs every hour. Account numbers, routing numbers, and individual transactions never appear in the document at all.

OUT · OF SCOPE

What this does not claim

SoloSteady is an informational tool. We check that the deposits come from a bank account you authenticated to, that your identity matches a government-issued ID, and that the figures we document are bounded by deposits that actually landed in the account. We do not verify your employment, predict your future income, or make or influence any lending decision. Whether a lender accepts the document is the lender's decision, and you are responsible for the accuracy of anything you submit.
